All the important travel information for our trip to Braintree Town on Saturday.
Leave the M11 at junction 8, then take the A120 towards Colchester. Stay on the A120 for 16 miles until you reach the Galley’s Corner roundabout . This is the first roundabout you will come to after leaving the M11. Take the first exit into Cressing Road and after three quarters of a mile turn left into Clockhouse Way. Then take the first left again for the ground.
There is a small car park at the ground which closes 30 minutes before kick off and can get very busy. We would advise Barrow fans to use considerate local street parking, of which plenty is available.
Braintree train station is just under a mile away from the ground and is served by hourly trains from London (Liverpool Street).
After leaving the station turn right onto Station Approach. Cross Rose Hill at the pedestrian crossing, onto Railway Street. Then turn right at the traffic lights into Trinovantian Way. This road then becomes Manor Street and then Lakes Road. After the ‘Sportsmans’ Snooker Club turn left into Chapel Hill. When you reach the triangular junction turn right onto Clockhouse Way. Turn left at the bend at the end of the road and then the entrance to the ground is on the right.
It should take you around 20 minutes to walk from the station to the ground, though it is not a well signposted route.
If you don’t fancy the walk, there is a taxi rank outside Braintree station.
