Cox Happy After Tough Boston Test

Cox Happy After Tough Boston Test

The Barrow Boss gave us his thoughts following the 1-1 draw away at Boston United in our third pre-season friendly.

“I picked this game deliberately, knowing their managers mindset and we got everything out of it that I wanted.

It was a really good game, Boston will be up at the top of the Conference North with some good players, some of whom should be playing in the conference and even the football league.

It was a high tempo, physical game, with lots of first balls and second balls to be won and it asked questions of us.

There is also lots of things we have learnt from it, lots of positives things.

We still need some quality bringing in, but I can’t fault where we are at the minute. There were some huge questions asked of us today and we dealt with them in a positive way. There are some things that we need to build on but we are 3 games in, and we are okay in terms of conditioning and fitness levels. Now we need to get the mindset and structure in that served us so well last season.”

We return to the Furness Building Society Stadium for our next pre-season game against Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday 18th July. Kick off is 7:30pm.
