Over the coming weeks, we will be announcing several changes to Barrow AFC Community Sports!
As we continue to improve on the pitch, it is now important that the club does more to strengthen our relationship with the local community through school programs, equity initiatives and our Performance Centre.
The strengthened partnership will not only continue to deliver high quality programs to people of all ages, but also ensure the club engages young people to create the future footballers and football fans that will support this club for years to come.
The increase in support that the club will provide the Community Sports will also give its coaches and staff the chance to grow and develop their careers within the setting of a professional football club.
The first appointment under the improved structure is Craig Rutherford, who is now head of the Barrow AFC Community Sports. Craig has been an integral part of the local junior footballing community for many years and we are excited to have him aboard to steer us in a new, professional direction. Craig is coming into the role with a lot of exciting ideas to deliver better programs with more professional coaching and he will work hand in hand with the Directors of Barrow AFC to ensure his goals are fully supported.
We will be releasing more details of what is to come in the next step of Barrow AFC Community Sports exciting journey in the coming weeks.
