Club Bans 8 following Blackburn Rovers Incident

Club Bans 8 following Blackburn Rovers Incident

The club has concluded its review into the incident that happened in the Holker Street End during the friendly with Blackburn and, based on video evidence recorded by the club and other supporters, has decided to ban 8 of the individuals involved.

The bans will prohibit these individuals from entering the ground for any reason for the next 12 months. At the end of that time, the ban will be lifted on a case by case basis following a discussion with a club board member. On a separate note, the video evidence of the Blackburn supporters who crossed the barrier has been passed on to that club for appropriate action.

The club have made the banning decision to send a message that it takes very seriously its responsibility to provide a safe environment for all those who come through the gates. We want passionate supporters who drive the team onto success, but that is not what happened last Saturday.

Once again, the club would like to thank the supporters who stepped in to end the incident before it truly got out of hand, the stewards for their continual work to make the Furness Building Society Stadium a safe place for home and away fans alike, and all those who came forward with pictures or statements to identify the culprits.

If, in response to the incident or this action, you wish to speak to someone at the club, please feel free to email or call us at 01229 666010.
