Managing Director Andrew Casson will be taking your questions in a Q&A on Friday 29th September.
As some of you are probably aware, there was a bit of an incident involving myself and a small group of supporters on Saturday during our match against Sutton United.
Frankly, I was embarrassed by the incident, not for myself, but for how all of our travelling supporters were represented by a minority. I think our fans are probably the best in the league, especially in terms of away travel and support and you don’t deserve to be represented like that.
There are appropriate times and places for discussions, but an away ground whilst the match is being played and I am sat with representatives of the opposition is not one of them.
However, as I take a step back and reflect on the situation, it was obviously the result of unresolved angst about issues that some would like to perceive as dishonesty or obscuring the truth. I believe that we are quite transparent as a football club. I am at the club almost every day of the week and I try to answer every question put to me when I am approached by fans either around town or during a match day. I appreciate that some would like more official channels to communicate and I suppose now would be a good time to have one.
To that end, I would like to invite supporters to a Q&A in the Crossbar on Friday, September 29th. The questions will start at 8pm, to give the Bluebirds Trust time to finish their AGM, and the doors will be open from 7:15pm. It will only be myself on stage, and I will answer any question I can on topics as far ranging as our new manager to our business strategy moving forward.
Afterwards, I hope you will all have a better understanding of where we are and where the club is going, with a bit more trust in the leadership.
As I mentioned in my last update, the club is at its best when myself, our staff, and the fans all work together towards a common goal. I hope this meeting can clear any concerns and will enable us to do so.
