Barrow boss Paul Cox has signed 25 year old Biggleswade Town striker Inih Effiong on a deal until the end of the season.
The 6′ 4 prolific poacher has found the net over 20 times for the Southern Premier League outfit this season and was another unearthed by the Barrow scouting network led by Paul Ogden.
The deal includes a one year option and the swift signing was made possible after Biggleswade waived the statutory seven days’ notice for their non contract player in exchange for a sell-on clause and summer friendly.
Barrow Director / Football Secretary Russell Dodd said “We are extremely grateful to Biggleswade Town for allowing us speedy access to the player meaning the deal could be tied up in time for this weekend’s fixture.”
Effiong, subject to the usual confirmation of paperwork by the FA and National League today should be available for selection for the visit of Forest Green tomorrow.
