Dan Cockerline heads for Port

Forward Dan Cockerline has joined Vanarama National League North side Southport for an undisclosed fee.

The Warrington born striker spent his youth career at Sheffield United before joining us in the Summer of 2016 from Northwich Victoria.

He was loaned out to Stalybridge Celtic in December 2016 but picked up an injury that ruled him out of the rest of the 2016/17 season.

He returned to the Bluebirds for his rehabilitation and made his several appearances as a subsitute earlier this season, as well as starting away at Solihull Moors.

With Byron Harrison returning to fitness sooner than expected, Dan’s opportunities were going to be limited and it was agreed that it is in the best interests of his career that he go out and get regular first team football.

We thank Dan for his efforts at Barrow and wish him well for his future career.
