An unprecedented 90 per cent of club members voted in favour of the Barrovian businessman’s £600,000 AFC buy-out proposal in April. Today, the FA approved Paul Casson as a suitable person to takeover the club.
The FA, the Football Conference and the Lancashire FA have each agreed to transfer the memberships of each organisation from Barrow AFC Limited to Paul Cassons new company, Barrow Bluebirds Limited.
US-based Casson must now set a date for the transfer to become ‘official’ and then advise the FA. At the completion of this process, Paul will be in full control, with Barrow Bluebirds Limited operating the club in the eyes of the football authorities.
Whilst expected, this development is much welcomed and will allow Paul, alongside the board of directors to concentrate fully on ensuring the club fulfils its full potential.
