We are delighted to announce the loan signing of Lewis Walters from Nottingham Forest!
Walters, 22, plays as a forward or attacking midfielder/winger and has joined for one month initially.
Lewis joined Forest from Leeds in September 2016 and spent the 16/17 campaign playing for the club’s Under-23s side where he shone.
It was anticipated that he would make a breakthrough into the Nottingham Forest first team before an injury held him back. Speaking to the Nottingham Post after Lewis signed a new contract with Forest back in July, U23 boss Jack Lester said “He’s one of our older professionals. If he hadn’t got his hamstring injury, I think he’d have been in and around the first team. We’ve got high hopes for him, he’s a bright lad.”
He goes into the squad for Saturdays game against Dagenham & Redbridge at the Furness Building Society Stadium when the team will be looking for a second home win under Ady Pennock after three fantastic away wins at Eastleigh, Gateshead and FC Halifax Town.
