Barrow AFC Announces Postponement of Summer Disco
Barrow AFC regrets to announce the postponement of our Summer Family Disco, originally scheduled for Saturday the 8th of June 2024. This decision comes as a mark of respect and solidarity with the memorial events planned for the esteemed Dave Myers, who is better known as one-half of the beloved duo, Hairy Bikers. Myers was a cherished figure in our community and beyond. He touched the lives of many with his warmth, wit, and culinary prowess.
As Barrow-in-Furness prepares to pay tribute to his memory on the 8th of June, it is only fitting that we align our efforts in honouring his legacy.
While we understand the disappointment this may bring to those who were eagerly looking forward to the Summer Disco, we believe that participating in the memorial events is a meaningful way for us to come together as a community and celebrate the life of a remarkable individual.
We extend our deepest condolences to Liliana, their family, friends, and fans of Dave Myers during this time of remembrance. Our thoughts are with all those who have been touched by his extraordinary spirit.
We will provide updates regarding the rescheduling of the Summer Family Disco in due course. In the meantime, we thank everyone for their understanding and support as we pay tribute to a local legend.
