March Loan Watch

18 March 2024

It’s time for another loan watch as we provide you with another update on how our players out on loan are getting on at their new clubs.

Starting with our most recent player to be shipped out on loan, B team defender Malakai Reeve joined National League North side, Blyth Spartans on the 8th of March. Since joining the Spartans, Reeve has managed to make three appearances with two of those coming in the starting line-up. His new side has won one match whilst losing out by a single goal on the other two occasions.

Staying with our youngsters, Sam Bellis joined then bottom of the National League side, Kidderminster Harriers on loan back in January. Since joining the Harriers, Bellis has been in excellent form as the Midland’s side fortunes have vastly improved and they are now just two points from safety. The 21-year-old has started eight matches since January and has been praised for his energy and work rate off the ball, as he’s proving to be a real asset to Kidderminster.

Another Bluebird who seems to be flying out on loan is Forward, Ged Garner. The Liverpool-born striker joined the Shrimps in January when they were a midtable outfit, but their form has drastically increased in the second half of the season as they now look to chase a Play-Off place. Garner has become a constant figure in the Shrimps’ starting line-up and has bagged four goals since January, taking his total for the season to six.

The final Bluebird currently out on loan is Striker, Courtney Duffus. Duffus has made five appearances for Hartlepool United as he’s struggled to find his way back into the starting line-up following a knock which derailed his time at the Pools. His new side are currently sitting comfortably in the middle of the table in the National League as they look to be safe from relegation.
